In my day we didn’t need to submit portals through [Redacted], in my day there was only one way to submit portals and it was called EMAIL NIANTIC AND HOPE THEY READ IT! That’s right! You’d stand in front of some statue and keep taking photos of it and emailing them to Niantic until it appeared in the scanner! That’s the way it was and we liked it, we loved it!

Niantic discovered a bug in Prime version 2.21 after they started rolling it out. It wasn’t a big deal though because it only affected agents ability to make links:
Agents, we discovered a bug in the Ingress Prime 2.21 release that affects the ability to make links. We’ve decided to stop releasing 2.21 and roll features and bug fixes from this release into 2.22. Thanks for your understanding!

Attention any Agents who are still using the original Ingress app: starting today we will require you to use Ingress Prime or Scanner [REDACTED]. This change will allow for server improvements and new features for Prime. Thanks for your understanding.

Ingress Prime isn’t using more battery or anything. But, if you think it is, you can enable the new “Battery Saver” mode. But you don’t need to because it doesn’t drain the battery any faster than [Redacted]. Trust us.
In the coming days you will receive an update to the Ingress Prime Scanner. We’re excited to announce it includes the beta rollout of a new optional Battery Saver mode that can be enabled in settings!

Earlier today ingress.com was relaunched including a coded message. Decoders from both factions went to work and soon discovered that the decoded message was:
Ingress Prime Releases Nov 18
However, despite all the effort of relaunching the website and including an encoded message, someone at Niantic hit a button and Prime was released as a forced upgrade for Ingress 1.x on all Apple and Android devices.
The wait is over.
